War will break out again.

He will stir up his strength and courage against the king of the South with a large army; so the king of the South will stir up an extremely large and staunch army for war; but he will not stand, for schemes will be devised against him (Dan 11:25).
The first king to stir up an army is the King of the North. The success of his Middle East Peace Plan gives him confidence, and his heart becomes bold. The King of the South will also stir up a large army to resist the King of the North. However, he will not succeed due to schemes devised against him. The word is doubled: they will devise devising against him. The scheme is described in the next two verses.
The two kings, whose hearts are bent on evil, will speak lies at the same table but to no avail (Dan 11:26).
The two political leaders will come together and pretend to be friends, but each of them will be intent on doing evil against each other. Neither leader will succeed with their deceptions.
Those who eat his delicacies will destroy him; his army will be swept away, and many will fall slain (Dan 11:26).
Instead, one of them will be destroyed by one of his greatest supporters; someone who eats with him regularly. It is not clear from the text, whether the loser will be the King of the South or the King of the North. No doubt, it will be obvious when it happens.

This ruler will return to the land that he came from.

Then he will return to his land with much wealth; but his heart will be on the holy covenant, and he will take action and return to his land (Dan 11:28).
Having done what he can do to support Israel, he will switch his focus back to his own land.

Daniel makes one thing clear. This battle is not the end of the age.

The end of the season will be further on (Dan 11:27).
Other things will happen before the end comes.
